My 2017 Goal: A Dream Reborn

My 2017 Goal: A Dream Reborn
Goals are typically set for the beginning of the year in the form of New Year’s Day resolutions. However, this year, I’d had enough. After having life trying to steamroll me for the fourth or fifth time this year, I’d had enough. And if things were going to stink, I might as well spend time doing the things I’d always wanted to do. I set some goals for 2017.

Goal #1 – Restart my internet business

An Internet business was something I’d always wanted to do. Even going back to my college days (remember Netscape 1.0 and Internet Explorer 2.0?), I’ve always wanted to do something to make money online. I had my own little web site complete with an awesome shot of the U.S.S. Defiant. I also tried my hand in monetizing my business by helping people to submit their web sites to search engines.

However, due to fraud on my new site and a major illness, I was forced to shut down my business as it was just getting started.

Fast forward nearly 20 years later: I’ve really been thinking about what I can do to do more in and for the world. And…let’s face it…. you can’t help the poor in Africa if you have nothing left over to give. I can’t help the homeless in Denver if I’m only able to take care of my own family.

So – with that note – I’ve decided to take a “dream” off the shelf that it’s been sitting on for 20 years.

Phase one of that dream is what is now the web site, Massage My Stress Away. I plan to start and launch additional sites in the new future as I get this first one up and running.

Phase two is tiptoeing (slowly) back into the web promotion space. It’s been a few years since I’ve seriously looked at this. Also, much has changed. However, it was something I’ve always been interested in, plus I have a couple of new tricks that I can use to help others to promote their businesses.

All in all, I’m wondering why it took me so long to do this. I believe it was fear: fear of failing (again), and fear of what others (friends and family) would say or think. However, others are not paying my bills. They won’t help me to grow and prosper if I do nothing.

It was time for me to take back my dream and move forward again.
